Slide and Splash Water Park was inaugurated on 10 June, 1986. It currently occupies an area of 16,000 acres and is considered the biggest of its kind in the country and also one of the biggest and best in Europe.

The park features slides, swimming pools, tube rides, a dedicated kids area and much more. There are shaded areas throughout the park, along with 2 restaurants, a gift shop and a favorite with the kids - the ice cream parlour!

 There are lots of grassy spaces where you can put down your towels while you go off and have fun.Bring a picnic as water parks tend to make big and small kids very hungry!!

 Directions from Tavira-take the A22 in the direction of Faro.Keep going until you reach exit 6-Lagoa-Sul. From there follow the signs.

 Aqualand

There's some cutting edge waterslides here at Aqualand Algarve near Albufeira. Checkout the Kamikaze ride - the highest in Portugal where you descend from 36 metres hurtling down 95 metres of slide - all in only 4 seconds by the way! Other dare devil rides here include the Corkscrew Anaconda - yes it does look like a snake - this is a ride with multiple water slides.

On a calmer Aqualand Algarve note, other attractions on-site include a semi-olympic swimming pool, rapids involving a bit of white water rafting on an inflated ring, surf beach with simulated waves, and plenty for the younger tots including a Mini Park with slides, showers, giant crayons and all in a shallow water pool. You can relax on the slow moving Congo River too. Other lower key rides include the Crazy Race slide where friends can race each other down a multiple lane water slide, plus the gentle Crazy Leap ride.

Aqualand Algarve is open from the end of May to mid-September, daily from 10am to 6pm. (check the Aqualand Algarve weblink right for up-to-date opening times). Buses run regularly to the water park from Albufeira, Vilamoura, Lagos, Praia da Rocha, Alvor, Portimao, Carvoeiro and Montegordo and you can purchase an entrance ticket which includes the bus journey.

Directions from Tavira-take the A22 in the direction of Faro,keep going until you reach the exit 7-Alcantrilha follow the signs from there.

Aquashow

An excellent choice for an adrenaline filled day! An amazing water coaster, the exciting White Fall, slides and rides galore.

 
Aquashow family park is set in large grounds with plenty of grassy shaded areas for relaxing. There are several kiddies play areas with slides and swings scattered throughout the park. One of the most popular attractions is the large wave pool , good for adults and kids. The children have a well equipped pool area with lots of slides and tunnels and some of the larger curving slides are good for children too.

Aquashow has several slides that are guaranteed to get the adrenaline flowing. The jewel in the crown is without doubt the water coaster. One of the biggest in Europe, it takes 5 minutes to complete its journey, covers 740m and reaches speeds of up to 70 kms per hour! Not for the faint-hearted! The White Fall is another hit with the fearless – a free fall in a rubber ring down through a white sail and into a pool.

The park also has animal attractions – colourful tropical birds and majestic birds of prey. There are daily shows to appreciate their beauty. All kinds of snacks are available at the kiosks and restaurants scattered around the park. You can even get your hair braided, have your portrait drawn or get some body painting done!

New this season - a huge bouncy castle to keep the younger ones happy, extra children play areas and more kiddie trains to take you around the park. 

Directions from Tavira-take the A22 in the direction of Faro.Continue until you come to exit 12 Loule/Quarteira/Vilamoura you will now be on the N396 which will bring you to Aquashow follow the signs.
