Stayed at the apartment for the last week in September. It is absolutely lovely - very comfortable, and has every mod con you could ever need. Made lots use of the swimming pool, which was great to cool off in after a day walking around the town or at the beach.
Helen was fantastic in the lead up to the trip, supplying us with recommendations for and directions to restaurants, things to visit and the local supermarkets. This made our lives much easier for the holiday!
The only thing I would say is that for anyone who is mobility impaired, access to the town is difficult, as the main pedestrian access involves a lot of steps. For us that wasn't a problem - working a bit of exercise into our holiday definitely did us good!
10/10, would recommend this apartment to anyone looking to stay in Tavira.

We stayed in the apartment in late August. Only good things to say about it. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything you could possibly need. Just outside your door there was a large green area if sunbathing is your thing. The apartment had sun loungers for you to use. The swimming pool was perfect. And never seemed busy even though we were there in high season. It is a quiet group of apartments. The apartment is about 15 minute walk away from the city centre. There are steep steps up to the apartment but only for the last five minutes. Nothing that we couldn?t handle. Tavira itself is a charming old town. We ate in quite a few restaurants. The waiters were lovely but not in any way pushy. We ate in both the Italian and the Portuguese restaurant very close to the apartment and they were lovely. All in all we had a lovely holiday between the apartment and the town.

The management team were great, Denise showed us the way to the apartment and we arrived earlier than usual as the apartment was ready for us, which made for a relaxed start to our visit! The apartment is really well designed and beautifully decorated with art and ornaments. The facilities are excellent too - I think they have everything you would need in the well stocked kitchen and the lots of games, DVDs and even beach toys that our family appreciated! There were also helpful touches such as hand soap and toilet rolls in the bathrooms, and beach towels which were really useful! The property is well managed and lots of useful information is provided. It feels like it is well loved by the Raffertys and we could understand why, it is such a sweet apartment with large well appointed rooms located around a little courtyard, which creates light as well as outside space. In the grounds are the large swimming and paddling pools and lots of green space and beyond these the riverside walk into lovely Tavira. There are a lot of steps or a long winding route down to the river which we just about managed with our toddler (sometimes with the buggy) but this could be too much for older visitors - there is good car parking though! We only stayed for a few nights at the end of our holiday, so it wasn't really long enough - a good excuse to go back! We did manage to eat at D'Gusta (luckily a storm held people off that night, but they wiped down some tables outside after the rare rain shower) and we enjoyed their tapas at this popular and busy restaurant, over the other side of the blue bridge. We took the boat to Tavira beach and our older boys also enjoyed the futsal pitch close to the bus station. We are very appreciative of Helen and the family for letting us stay in this fabulous holiday apartment and to their excellent management team for their help and flexibility. We love Tavira and this is a great apartment, which we hope we get the opportunity to return to!

We just returned from Tavira we discovered thanks to Helen and Kevin. It was perfect through the exchange has many contacts by email throughout the year; Thank you to Helen for his availability and made multitudes of information.
We enjoyed the comfort of their luxury apartment in a quiet residence and very well maintained; our children have especially appreciated the huge hot pool at the foot of the apartment
Tavira is probably the most beautiful and authentic small town in the Algarve; the ideal situation also allows to discover the southern coast of Portugal since the extreme south west is only 1:30; it is also in Tavira we experienced our best culinary moments with excellent restaurants with unbeatable value for money.
In short, miles thank you to Helen and Kevin for giving us this unforgettable holiday ....

We had a lovely time staying in the apartment and exploring Tavaria. Helen was really helpful before we left and the apartment was brilliant for us. It felt like a real treat staying there and the pool and grounds were really well set out for our 2 year old and a 5 year old to happily play. The walk into town was easy, with lots of lovely streets, cafes and restaurants to explore. We didn't hire a car but used the buses and taxis a few times when we wanted to explore further out of town. The boat trip to the beach was a great adventure and it was really helpful to have a beach umbrella and buckets and spades to borrow in the apartment. Thank you so much, we had such a lovely time none of us wanted to come home!!

We had a fantastic stay in Helen's apartment. Its really well equipped with everything you need for a fantastic holiday, it felt like a real home from home. Really relaxing grounds and good size swimming pool. We love Tavira and enjoyed once again the fabulous beaches and restaurants (all very reasonably priced). It was really hot so the air-con was an essential! Great welcome from the agent too. We would love to return soon! ? 21-Aug-2015

We stayed in this apartment July/August 2014. What a great place to stay!
We had read the owners website and looked at the photos and when we arrived it was exactly as it had been represented, which made us feel at home straight away.
The apartment is fully equipped as a home from home, there wasn't anything which we thought it lacked. The position of the apartment on the complex is good. The pool is clean and although sometimes busy it never felt overly crowded, and sometimes we had it all to ourselves!
The location of the apartment in respect of the town is great. It is about a ten minute walk to the main square, (we found this walk easy but it wouldn't be so easy for the less mobile or if you had a pram as there are quite a number of steps). Everything is easy to locate, the bus station, ferry, market and supermarkets. Tavira town is lovely and we enjoyed wandering around the streets and visited the castle and camera obscura.
We decided against a car due to the information provided about the apartment beforehand. We used a private water taxi and ferry for the beach, we would walk to the big Continente supermarket and get a taxi back - (less than £5) and we also caught a bus one day to visit Faro, (visited the lovely old town).
There are a number of restaurants in Tavira, we ate out a lot and generally the prices were very reasonable and we also used the BBQ some nights and ate in. The kitchen is very well equipped.
All in all we had a great time and would definitely return. The whole process of hiring the apartment was made very easy by Helen who was also very helpful with additional advice. As this was our first visit to Portugal, maybe next time we would hire a car in order to explore further afield, but for a completely relaxing holiday to switch off and get away from the hustle and bustle we would highly recommend Tavira and this apartment.

We had a wonderful time in this lovely apartement. Fantastic service from owner and also Lorraine, who met us when we arrived. Perfect location, nice and quiet. We had access to all facilities we, it could`t be better really. Will warmly recomend this to others.

This was our first visit to this apartment and Tavira and we were not disappointed, this is a great apartment with all the facilities you need as a couple or family, the pool area is great and the town centre was a small walk away where the best restaurants we believe to be on the other side of the water,We also received great advice from Lorraine and Luis on where things were and this advice was spot on, we will not hesitate to visit Tavira again and stay in this apartment so a big thank you to Helen and the management team and look forward to seeing you all again.
