Tavira Holidays | Tavira Apartment

Our  apartment is part of a small complex consisting of only 32 apartments and 19 townhouses.Some are for rent during the summer and others are only used by their owners.It is built on an elevated site overlooking the river Gilao with wonderful views of the surrounding countryside and the town of Tavira.

The complex is quiet by day and night, built around communal gardens with a large swimming pool for adults and a smaller paddling pool for children.

There are paved patios and a large deck surrounding the pool,furnished with comfortable sunloungers and umbrellas. 

The gardens are well tended and planted with olive and palm trees,with large grassy areas where you can sunbathe or just sit and read a book on one of the garden seats.

The apartment is ground floor and has direct access to the areas of lawn overlooking the pool.The apartments are modern in design and there has been extensive use of glass blocks which makes them very bright inside.

On entering the apartment there is a vestibule where some outside furniture is stored when not in use. There is a video controlled entry system mounted on the wall inside the door.

The kitchen

The kitchen is large and very modern with integrated appliances,it has a cream marble tiled floor and natural stone worktops.There are 2 sinks,a large fridge freezer,washing machine and dryer, a microwave,grill and convection oven combined.

There is a 3 ring ceramic hob and a dishwasher. All the kitchen equipment you would expect is supplied, pots, pans, oven dishes and baking trays.There is  ample crockery ,cutlery and glassware so you can fill the dishwasher and still have plenty.

The Living room/Dining room

A glass sliding door leads from the kitchen into the living room/dining room.

This is a bright and spacious room with cream marble tiles and double glass doors leading to the small garden at the front. It is tastefully furnished with 2 comfortable leather sofas,cushions and lamps. 

There is an entertainment unit with flat screen TV,Dvd/video player and CD player with ipod docking station.We have SKY satellite tv with all the free to air British channels,BBC,ITV-for a full list of the tv and radio stations see the list on the informational links page.If you have your own SKY card you can bring it and use it in the digibox. 

We have a small collection of CD's and a large collection of DVD's and Videos-with lots of childrens movies. We also have some childrens games and puzzles.

There is an extendable dining table and six dining chairs.

Inner Courtyard

From the living room and kitchen glass doors lead into an inner courtyard which is furnished with a table and chairs.It is a tranquil place to escape the heat of the day and have a quiet read or a meal.There are several plants which give it a garden feel.There is a gas fired BBQ here where you can grill your favourite fish or steaks.

Bedroom One

A hallway with a large mirror leads to the bedrooms and bathrooms.The first bedroom is set up as a twin bedroom.

But can easily be changed to a kingsize bed depending on your needs as we have used orthopaedic zip and link beds.

The luxurious wall mounted headboard allows for comfortable reading in bed.There are bedside tables with lamps.All bed linen is high quality with cushions and throws for your comfort.There is ample storage for your clothes with double built in wardrobes including drawer space.

Floor to ceiling windows slide open to a narrow balcony where you can enjoy a drink at the table and chairs.There are electric shutters which can be lowered at night if you like it to be really dark.There is a remote controlled air conditioning unit which also doubles as a heater.

Family Bathroom

This is the largest bathroom and is tiled with beautiful blue mosiac tiles.There is a jacuzzi bath,shower,bidet,toilet,and sink with plenty of storage.There is a large mirror over the sink with lights and a shaver socket. On the wall is a heated towel rail.

Master bedroom

This bedroom is ensuite and has a king sized bed which once again can be made into 2 singles if you prefer.There is plenty of storage for your clothes with three built in wardrobes and drawer space

There is a wall safe useful for storing your valuables. 

The floor to ceiling sliding doors open to the narrow balcony which communicates with the first bedroom.Once again there are bedside tables,lamps,quality bed linens,cushions and throws.

The Ensuite bathroom.

This bathroom is tiled with cream tiles,it has a rainmaker walk-in shower, toilet and sink with plenty of storage beneath.There is a lighted mirror,shaver socket and hairdryer. On the wall is a heated towel rail.

The Garden.

There is a small garden at the front of the apartment which is furnished with a table and chairs -a perfect place to have your breakfast or lunch.

 It leads directly into the communal garden which is planted with olive trees,palms and flowers.

 The area around the apartment is safe for children to run about and play and a childrens playground is planned within the complex but as yet is not installed.

We have sunloungers and deckchairs that you can take into the garden if you don't want to sit by the pool.  

The Pool

 The pool is very large for the size of the complex.

Just above the pool there is a big area of decking where you can relax and read a book on a sunlounger.

There is a shallow area of the pool which is perfect for small children.

Following a condominium meeting this week(19/02/10) plans for a games room/gym next to the pool have due to health and safety concerns been changed to have a seating area with tables and chairs instead.
