Just to say thanks for the use of your apartment. It was perfect for us and so well presented - you have thought of everything to make a stay there very relaxing and enjoyable. We enjoyed our walks down the steps to the centre - sometimes we would walk back and sometimes get a taxi. We fell in love with Tavira all over again and we were so pleased to see that it has not changed too much and has kept all it's character and charm.
We ate at some lovely restaurants - we had the most delicious meal at Amore Vero - that was definitely our favourite but we also loved Rive Gauche eating there twice. We had a lovely meal at A Taska and Beiro Rio but was a little disappointed at Abstracto mainly because all the starters were either fish or tomato based. I'm not keen on fish so chose a tomato starter however they had run out so I ended up with a fish dish in the end.
Thanks again for all your help over the last few months. Your own website is very informative and covers everything. We had a fantastic holiday at your apartment and will certainly recommend it to others and we will definitely be back in Tavira very soon.
ENGLISH COUPLE MAY/JUNE 2011
Our first visit to Tavira and we really enjoyed it.What a fabulous apartment so much space and all the equipment!
6 sunshine days in 1 week in October was great and the ferry to the beach was still operating-where we thought the Sunshine bar was very good.Of course no crowds but then the beach is so long there will always be plenty of room.
We enjoyed Tavira during the day a visit to Camers Obscura was very good, also the garden at the castle where we went back for dinner at A ver tavira-very enjoyable with piano music on Fridays.
We used Tavira lounge at lunchtime, very good menu and also for after dinner drinks and to print boarding card for flight home-very helpful owner.
We had good meals in Aquasol and Encontre and Capello in Santa Luzia. Encontre is good value, large menu and large indoor space if weather is inclement.
Mini Preco near the taxi rank is good for basic shopping. With so wonderful and apartment and pool Tavira is terrific!

This is the last day of our 9 day holiday in Tavira. This apartment is one of the best I have ever stayed in on a holiday.Helen you have equipped it with absolutely everything to ensure your guests have an enjoyable stay.We travelled to Cabanas and Santa Luzia beaches which were both fantastic the waves were great craic!! The Pego de Inferno is definitely a place that all guests must visit-it?s like paradise (not sure why it is called the pool of hell) We ate out every night and I couldn?t fault any restaurant. My favourites were Aqua sol and Brisa do Rio on Rua Dr.Agusto. The pool was great for lounging on lilos as it was very quiet.Sad we?re leaving for home but hope to be back again soon.

We are very sad to be going home after a super 10 days here in this super apartment and charming village. We immeadiately felt at home in the apartment so user friendly, clean and modern and thanks to the website felt as we knew it.
We visited the beach/island several times using the ferry and the train(barilla beach) and were extremely grateful to Helen?s sun umbrella as the sun was fierce most days, but loved the huge waves and glorious beach.
One of the best days was at slide and splash water park-we got there as it opened and experienced several of the rides without queues the first few times.Tip-take sun umbrella(available to hire) and head for a shady spot to put towels down as you will need to get out of the sun at some point.Queues began to build up but moved fairly quickly except the traffic light ones they seem to take an age. Called at Faro Forum on the way home very good!
We also took a day trip to Lisbon-very enjoyable and a great city-but very hot.We just took the local bus although there are trips organised around town.
Re restaurants-we tried several including the Chinese on the other side of the river-which was very good. Our favourite would be Tavira lounge primarily because had pre dinner drinks by the river-lovely food inside the lounge and then free internet access to finish for our daughter to ?catch up?
We were last in Tavira 18years ago we enjoyed it it then but have loved it this time around(not many changes) thanks to the excellent apartment, location and the Vino verde!! Hope you all have a great time too.

Me my brothers and my parents stayed here for 8 days. The apartment was really nice so was the pool. If I had to pick a favourite bit of the week it would be the pool of hell! We went there 5 times and are going again today. You can swing off the swing into the clear water. The beaches were all really nice as well but my favourite was Manta Rota.Overall a brill holiday and I hope to be back again next year.

The ash nearly prevented us getting here and it may stop us leaving... which is no shame! The apartment itself is fantastic-definitely 5 stars well done Helen!
The facilities are great and I loved the terrace and pool area-we had the place to ourselves.Tavira itself was very enjoyable with some beautiful restaurants and cafes. We had some great walks just wandering around the towns back streets. We loved Barilla beach and the trip to Isla de Tavira, the sands and the sea are so inviting.I tried my first plate of sardines at the sunshine bar and my first octopus at Abstracto-very nice although if we eat any more natas we will explode!!
All in all definitely a place to chill out and relax.Even the yappy dog at the end of the road became friends with at least one of us!! Facilities food and people made a nice place an exceptional holiday.

Well what an adventure we have had-we arrived on Easter Monday and were delighted to find the apartment so lovely, clean and modern,a real treat. Our 2 boys had a great time in and out of the pools despite the weather being changeable and on some days pouring with rain.We visited all the recommended attractions but kept going back to Barilla beach because it?s great for families, the short train ride and the snack bars did reasonable and tasty food.
We liked Tavira because it is very laid back and characterful but has access to everything you need including the big Plaza shopping centre. The local fresh food and fish market is worth a visit to buy fresh meat and fish to bring back and barbeque.
Even though there was a power cut in the apartment for a few days (thanks to EDF Portugese power company changing over the meters)Helen and Kevin were amazing at sorting it out for us and we really can?t sing their praises enough for great customer service. So not only would we recommend this excellent property for it facilities and locality we would also highly recommend the owners in how they dealt speedily with the issue and were great at communication.
Now for the fun bit-thanks to the Iceandic volcano we were unable to leave on the 18th but instead spent a further 4 days at the apartment.A real hardship ha ha! We realised how lucky we were to be stranded here and not at an airport terminal. We spent the extra time exploring the rocky coastline near Portimao-we would recommend Meco sardine restaurant near the bridge near the harbour for some of the best sardines ever had.
A thoroughly enjoyable time made all the more memorable thanks to Kevin and Helen. Thanks!

March is maybe too early in the season to visit Portugal, not mant attractions open and weather not great. The apartment was lovely maybe too lovely for our boys! Beds were lovely and comfortable bathrooms great too.
Seville is a great day out well worth the drive.Fabesia near Albufeira was definitely our favourite beach-until our car got broken into just down the coast.Be warned don?t park in secluded spots.
British Family March 2010
We have had a lovely 2 weeks in this first class apartment, very comfortable and beautifully furnished.Although late in the season the weather was warm and we enjoyed sunbathing on the decking and swims in the pool-had it all to ourselves!
The walk into town is only a short distance but we found the steps between houses 23 and 25 very steep-still I suppose good exercise! Tavira is a lovely resort and we had some fantastic meals. There are also lots of interesting places to visit around town.
Our beach days were spent at Isla de Tavira and Barilla with their golden sands and good facilities.

Spent a fabulous week here in Tavira-very hot every day-too hot to be at the pool so we spent most of our days at Santa Luzia-Barilla Beach-which is very beautiful and has great facilities. We did also visit Cabanas beach but it is nowhere near as nice and the toilets are disgusting-so would not recommend it although there are nice shops and restaurants so is worth a visit.
Our favourite restaurant was Aquasol, the food is excellent, the service is a little slow so don?t go there if you like to be in and out quick-it is a dining experience. The Irish bar on the river also has a nice restaurant. We were impressed with the apartment it has everything you could need and the aircon is a real help after a long day in the sun.The walk down the steps to town is fine-10mins-we walked back every night,a torch may be useful!
A new bar opened while we were here just up along past the bus station, very nice interior, the lady who runs it is very friendly speaks 5 languages-and they have free internet very useful!
The Plaza shopping centre is worth a visit although the Forum at Faro is much better if you are really looking to spend money.
Overall a fantastic holiday,Tavira is a lovely unspoilt resort and this apartment gave us a 5 star visit.
